Cool beat, kept it tight

The toms/congo in the background helped alot, It was a good flowing beat. The bass line was a little weak sounding though, maybe when you bring the synth in beef it up and add some more hats or something. But thats just a down the line approach. pretty cool overall, a bit more variation and a bit longer would be cool

hey padman good to see some new stuff here. dont bother with the study, it wont teach you life skills, thats where newgrounds comes in. Grammer, spelling, wit, newgrounds has it all.
I like this one most out of your new three. i dont think it sounded cheesy, not compared to the rest of the stuff on here.
i have to mention the snare roll used with the in between counts, im not sure what u call that, its 16T/4 tiiming in reason instead of 16/4 but ive never used it, youve enlightened me.
Listening to it again its far from cheesy. Cheesy is too broad, wham! is cheesy, video game music is cheesy, this is more epic trance.
I like the last bar in the fading riff, even though u cant fully make out the notes cause theyre a bit fast its a good scale, its a great riff. good stuff, might have some stuff up soon too.

Lol, Newgrounds truly is a second home to me. My brothers and sisters here certainly enjoy sticking me with zero votes though!
I did switch things up in the snare-roll. Thanks for noticing! In the Live universe, they're called 12th notes, and the really short ones are 24th notes. You could use them in your breakbeats, no-one does much, so it would rock.
By the way, I just got your email today in my yahoo account. I don't go there at all any more, so my apologies for not replying sooner.
I look forward to your new work! Submit audio! Submit audio!

4am music

definately shouldn't be listening to this with the sun still up, its pretty hard and underground.
Funny you should say its nothing fancy, its probably the most rhythmically elaborate piece ive heard on newgrounds. I guess when up against the rest of your stuff its not fancy.
I think the hats are brilliant in this, or loosely called hats. If the hats were less varied I might class this as psy trance, but this is like progressive psy. Love it.
btw, beat repeat kick serious ass, a new age is upon us
Dont Stop Now

Its all good

Ive said it before,I think if breakbeathad a genre people would rate this stuff higher. What is the difference between dance and techno anyway?
U should be proud of this track, its got a good flow to it. i likey

TheComet responds:

actually dance and techno have a MASSIVE and pretty obvious difference :P
but yeah there should be a breakbeat category.

I'm not too proud of this since I really didn't do mmuch with the drums, I use that pattern WAY too much and it sounds a little commercial

YEEEAAp

Awesome stuff, teach me your little trick?

TheComet responds:

soft clipper on the master FX channel. does wonders

Crackin Breaks

Hey man, your a freakin machine,3 songs in 2 days. not that it shows. This is one of your best so far.
I want to know if your still on fruityloops cause theres still some heavy effects in use here.
The thrashy drums sound really well distorted, all the sounds are complimentry to each other.
Im struggling more and more finding advice to give. a bit of a quiet interlude would add some impact maybe, thats about all i got.
Ill get some new stuff on here soon, as im sure you will. Talk to u soon

dj-padman1 responds:

Hey, it's great to get some feedback from a real breakbeat connoisseur and technician!
I kind of felt like a soft interlude was in order but nothing I tried was working, you know how it goes sometimes. I was perhaps a bit lazy in just droppimg the bass and going for a percussive breakdown.
You're right again, this isn't Fruitloops, its Live. Not that Fruitloops can't rinse it with some filthy distortion as well mind you!
The drum samples are definately not Fruitloops standard though.
Thanks for the review, and I'm waiting eagerly for your latest creations.

Awesome

This one has that really fat sub bass that pendulum use so well, its a really clean bass and it adds so much depth and punch to the song.
Really great drum programming as usual, and the fx and echo are reall cool on this one.
One suggestion is that the main structured melody which comes from the bass isnt loud enough, so the random synths hold too much attention and means the song is a little too random.
I gave u a ten so its hard to find any other suggestions, except keep making them.

dj-padman1 responds:

Yo KaiSun.

Man, thanks for the Pendulum comparison, you've just brightened my day a great deal!
I broke out the magic of the 32nd note for this one, I couple of timestretched snares later, and we're crankin'...word...
But back to reality. I think you're on the money with your comments about the bass. Definately needed to cut through more. It seems to be particularly clouded out after the string interlude. That's probably when the track should just go back to its foundations, with an amped up bass and some fresh synth action as support.
Thanks again for your customary wisdom, and I'm holding out for your latest creations. It looks like your Superstrength Aerosol is clawing its way up to where it deserves. (anyone reading this go there now!)

Later KaiSun! Thanks again.

(I said now!!!)

A Nice Blend of Genres

Hey man, I read your review for some other breakbeat song and thought I should check out some of your beats. I hate putting breaks under drum and bass or techno so Ill watch your account for some fresh stuff.
The first half is really awesome, with the high piano and the cool beat behind, but I dont like the trance synth that everyone on newgrounds seems to worship. I think you should keep going with the song but maybe put in a really deep sawtooth bass after or along with the hi end stuff.
Keep it up man

Sweet

Yeah love the breaks. I feel the same as the last guy, there should be a breakbeat section on here I think. I like the crisp beats from the start, my beats always sound distant and not as clean.
The bass could possibly be a bit more pronounced though to do justice to the beat, cause the song sounds more ethereal and not as punchy later on.
Keep em coming

cool tune

it sounds a lot like that song sweet dreams, but thats a really good song so cudos to ya.
the drums are really good in this but i think with some hats or tambouriine on every 16th they might sound more iintegrated with the tune. nice one brother

The-Tasteless-Saga responds:

yup, no doubt. The melody is pretty much ripped straight off of that song. Although I did everything in this song, the melody was not written by me and this was pretty much submitted as a test for NG. Anyway, thanks for your advice & a good review.
